Wendy started singing while still at school, being discovered during rehearsals for the school play.
She was quickly enrolled in a country music club, singing solo with her guitar.
When Wendy was thirteen, she sang Daniel by Elton John, which played on national TV.
Wendy in her second year with the country music club decided to enter a singing competition, which was the Auckland Country music awards.
The year was 1987. Wendy was to come close to making a clean sweep of these awards winning or placing in most categories including, Top Female Solo and Top Duet with a Friend.
Wendy was to go on to win the 1987 Country Music Entertainer of the Year at the Founders theatre in Hamilton, New Zealand.
Wendy went on to be a member of a variety of bands and she featured in a promotional video for Telecom New Zealand.
Wendy has studied jazz at Adelaide University, and is now based out of Adelaide Australia
